These beautiful things are called Tokyo turnips. I've been doing some research, and there is also such a thing as a Japanese turnip. I'm not sure if they're the same thing, or one is a variety of another, but I'm on a major hunt for these turnips!
They were the side vegetable of a meat dish we had at a restaurant last month, and after tasting the buttery goodness of these little guys, I can't stop thinking about them!
